“A ship in harbour is safe, but that is not what ships are built for" (William Shedd)
Even though the Innovation process projects are changing and unpredictable, they are susceptible to systematisation and organisation through management structures similar to the ones used for other activities, without limiting them into fixed rules that restrict the creativity of the people involved.
In RTDI we believe that the adoption of certain management structures for research, development and innovation should be a strategic decision of each organisation, whatever the type it is and either if it is of the whole process or of certain projects,. The design and implementation of such structures must be influenced by the different needs, particular objectives, size and kind of organisation, the market it operates in, etc.
Furthermore, the particularities of the Innovation processes and projects must be considered:
-
Continuous use of information , that must be turned into value.
-
Need of managing the risk and uncertainty.
-
Management of the extensive duration of the process and its permanent investment requirements.
-
Continuous impulse to creativity as well as to motivation and excitement of the people involved.
-
Open and multidisciplinary nature.
RTDI offers three types of service concerning the management of research, development and innovation processes and projects:
-
Design, implementation and maintenance of Innovation Corporate Management Systems. This service is mainly addressed to companies. RTDI designs and introduces integral management structures of the Innovative Wheel:
-
With the objective of promoting the RTDI activities in the organisation,
-
With the objective of giving instructions in order to organise and manage such activities efficiently (by defining basic objectives, identifying threats and opportunities, selecting and managing optimised project portfolios, etc.) and promoting its profitability,
-
With the objective of helping to plan, organise and control such structures causing a resource saving.
The rule UNE 166006:2006 can be used as a structural framework in case you are interested in a future certification of the system. In this case, RTDI can:
-
Design the system and represent it in the necessary procedures and documents.
-
Support in its implementation and, if it is required, in the certification according to the Rule.
-
Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the System, even through the outsourcing of some of the stages in RTDI.
-
Support during the revisions and audits of recertification that stipulates the Rule.
-
-
Integral Management of research, development and innovation projects. RTDI offers project management services from a technical point of view as well as the coordination of the involved multidisciplinary / multigeographical teams, and takes care of the managing requirements in case of receiving financial support from a supporting programme.
-
Training in RTDI Management. We have years of experience in the design and execution of personalised physical or virtual training programmes in RTDI management (by covering one or some of the stages of the Innovation Wheel) for companies, public administrations, researchers, and mediators.
Our objective is offering a service adapted to the needs of each customer.
